Red Hardcover 'Masters of Deceit' Decorative Book by

Masters of Deceit by J. Edgar Hoover – 1961 Hardcover (Tenth Printing) Original hardcover copy of Masters of Deceit by J. Edgar Hoover, published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston. This is the Tenth Printing (November 1961) with its original red cloth hardcover binding. I purchased this book as part of a storage unit that contained a large collection of vintage and collectible books. The front endpaper contains a handwritten Christmas inscription dated December 25, 1961, appearing to be signed “J. Edgar Hoover.” After comparing the handwriting, signature style, and distinctive flourish with numerous publicly available examples of J. Edgar Hoover’s known signatures, I believe there is a strong possibility that this is an authentic signature. However, I am not a handwriting expert, and the signature has not been authenticated by JSA, PSA/DNA, Beckett, or any other third-party authentication service. Please carefully examine all photos and make your own determination regarding the inscription and signature before purchasing.
